Planet Nomads Weather Mod is a set of configuration files for Planet Nomads that alter the weather in game.

If you have played Planet Nomads for any length of time, you have probably noticed that it rains a lot. And what's more, it often rains for long periods of time.

One player pointed out that there seem to be some files related to weather in the game's data folder. (Thanks, Menzagitat!) After digging through them it turns out that the game's weather effects and patterns are all defined in a set of configuration files. So I went and built a tool to modify those weather patterns:

I have since had the opportunity to talk with the developers of Planet Nomads and confirm how the weather system works.

The result is a set of new configuration files that change the in-game weather:

• it generally rains a bit less in most biomes
• bad weather periods are typically shorter
• added smoother weather transitions

To give you an idea of the results, here are statistics about the length of bad weather periods before the changes and after:

With the original settings very long periods of bad weather were possible - more than 30 minutes in cases.
After the changes the length of bad weather periods is significantly cut down:
